Obu inspired my own investment journey from the very beginning. It’s true that you can’t be what you can’t see. Obu are setting out to create a more equal and diverse world - not only for the entrepreneurs who get funded but for the angels who fund us.”

PROPER PLAN X OBU

From our earliest conversations with Laura, we felt a real sense of shared purpose. Just like us, she’s built her business by helping others build theirs – empowering start-up founders to scale, grow and bring their brilliant ideas to a bigger audience.

And just like Obu, ProperPlan is taking all of that purpose and using it to make the journey easier and more accessible for a whole range of founders. We couldn’t have asked for a better fit, and it’s been a genuine pleasure to help make Laura’s raise happen – and happen fast.

As our founder Sarah King explains: “We’re always looking for commercially ambitious, women-built businesses, working purposefully to make a positive impact on the world. Laura and the ProperPlan team are doing just that – sharing know-how, supporting innovation and creating world-first, AI-powered tech that empowers so many others to achieve their goals.”

Breaking down barriers, empowering audiences and making innovation happen is something we really believe in at Obu. So it’s been incredible working with ProperPlan to secure investment that we know will have real, ongoing impact – not just for Laura and her customers, but for their customers, all over the world.

THE POWER OF INVESTMENT

Laura and her team already have a strong following. Their strategies and support have worked for hundreds of founders all over the world, they’ve helped their clients raise over £6m in revenue, and their reputation is growing. They launched their investment round to take that reach, impact and growth to the next level.

The investment they’ve raised will help to turn their vision for ProperPlan into reality, combining their powerful, proven strategies with state-of-the-art AI to deliver a world-first software app that empowers even more people, in even more places.

They’ll be using this new injection of capital – as well as the know-how, experience and networks of their new angels – to further develop their content and tech, scale their operations and advertising, and bring even more expertise and capacity into their team.

We can’t wait to see it in action.

  • "ProperPlan stood out to me as an exciting investment opportunity. Currently, there is no product on the market that integrates planning with learning. Laura has a game-changing idea that will impact many people's lives, given the huge size of the market. I’m really excited to see ProperPlan grow.”

  • "I invested in ProperPlan because for many years Laura has guided, supported and encouraged me to launch products and services in my business. Her knowledge and experience in this area are immense. To see all that wisdom and experience transformed into a software tool like ProperPlan is nothing short of revolutionary for people's businesses and lives. I'm not just an investor; I'm an advocate and I’m excited to watch the journey and be part of its growth story."

THE PROPER PLAN STORY

Over the last decade, Laura Phillips has earned an international reputation for helping small businesses do big things – launching new products, growing their audiences and building bigger, brighter futures.

Now she’s developing her world-first app, ProperPlan, to fill a unique gap in the market and serve those passionate small-business founders even better. It’s set to give them the supportive, step-by-step, personalised plans they need to launch their latest products and services, powered by integrated know-how, expert blueprints and crucially, AI.

It all started with Laura’s determination to help other founders. Back in 2015, working as a web designer, she set up a Facebook group to help people with their marketing. Her launches got attention from the word go, and after many requests, she began running workshops and training on launch strategy – helping those founders attract customers.

Within a year, Laura evolved those initial workshops into a membership and coaching programme, then a dedicated agency, Love To Launch. Today, by her own admission, she eats, lives and breathes launches. With her Love To Launch team, she’s served almost 900 customers, hit £2.2m in sales and helped her clients achieve over £6m in revenue from their launches. She’s spoken on marketing at events across the US and Canada.

Now Laura’s pouring all of that insight into ProperPlan, developing the SaaS app to empower individual founders and micro teams to take action on their biggest dreams. While it will initially target micro-businesses, Laura’s designing it to be a sector-agnostic app with vast potential reach – including health, wealth and personal development.
