Getting behind their mission brought a whole new dimension to Moody’s raise, enabling us to empower women not just through our tech, but through the choices we make for how we grow our business.”

MOODY MONTH X OBU

Here at Obu, we’re passionate about the potential of tech to accelerate change, diversity and equality. So the opportunity to partner with a groundbreaking femtech like Moody Month on their raise was an incredible fit, and a journey we’re proud to have been part of.

As Obu co-founder Sarah King explains: “Partnering with Moody saw us rewriting so many industry norms. It’s a great example of women founders choosing to raise with us, not only because we give them confidence in the investment process, but also because they believe in our mission and want their raise to help drive equality in the investment sector.

The team at Moody Month felt the same. “We’re thrilled to have partnered with Obu,” says co-founder Amy. “It’s a platform that shares Moody Month’s vision of empowering women. The partnership hasn’t just fuelled our innovation – it’s signalled a powerful shift in female-centric investment.”

Moody’s raise demonstrates the genuine ability of angel investors to shape the types of problems that get solved in the world – proving that more diverse angels really does mean more diverse innovation.”

THE POWER OF INVESTMENT

Moody Month already has a strong, growing international following, serving over 46,000 women every month, growing at +30% month-on-month and achieving an annual revenue of over £1 million.

Having secured investment – and a new team of passionate angel investors – through their Obu raise, Amy and Ciara are ready to take that growth to the next level and bring the benefits of their app to even more women worldwide.

With 66% of new Moody Month users currently coming from the US, they’ll be building on that base and developing an even larger US audience. At the same time, they’ll keep driving conversions worldwide from their free trial to full fee-paying accounts, working from a strong current conversion rate of 56%.

They’re now gearing up to integrate data from wearable devices, deepening the insights and value the app offers to both women and partner brands. They’re also getting ready to launch Moody’s first physical product, Hy-dra, a hydration and multi-nutrient supplement.

We just know big things are coming. Watch this space.

“Moody is supporting the 90% of women who experience mental and physical health fluctuations associated with hormones. In a sector worth $63 billion, historically dominated by fertility and contraceptives, Moody is owning a new sector of technology addressing the daily health of women across the world.”

— Amy Thomson, co-founder & CEO Moody Month

THE MOODY STORY

The game-changing Moody Month app helps women across the globe track their hormones, understanding and owning the power of their moods and bodies. The data it tracks informs personalised advice, empowers its users and is fuelling innovative collaborations with world-leading brands.

It’s the brainchild of We are Moody, a company whose trailblazing co-founders Amy Thomson and Ciara Ferguson have an incredible track record and bring a phenomenal stack of technical, academic and businesses skills to the table.

While Amy founded, scaled and sold her £15 million digital and experiential agency in just five years, Ciara has an MSc in applied statistics from Oxford and over 15 years’ experience in financial derivatives trading and full-stack data science.

They started Moody when Amy’s periods stopped. Realising her hormonal burnout was sparked by stress, they saw an urgent market need for tech that could support women’s daily mental and physical health. Tech that could help women track, predict and improve the way they felt, day by day, month by month.
